The alternative rock band 3 Doors Down may come from nowhere, Mississippi, yet the small-town heroes have proven to be no less than a nationally acclaimed success in today's musical kingdom. 3 Doors Down has gone from virtually unknowns to international superstars in the last 15 years, producing just one album out of four that hasn't reached the number one spot on the charts. From appearances on local radio shows to world-famous clubs like CBGB in New York, 3 Doors Down has proven through the last decade that, no matter their level of success, the small-town idols are still just three doors down from anyone.

The quartet consisting of vocalist/drummer Brad Arnold, bassist Todd Harrell and guitarists Chris Henderson and Matt Roberts formed the band 3 Doors Down in 1994 out of Escatawpa, Mississippi, squeezing out their first little drop of success when the local radio station WCPR started playing their soon-to-be hit song "Kryptonite." Although some of Mississippi knew what the rest of the nation was missing, 3 Doors Down didn't explode onto the music scene until after their performance at the New York club CBGB, when the band caught the eye of Republic Records. 3 Doors Down immediately signed to the record label, releasing their first major-label album The Better Life in 2000. Life with a recording contract was indeed a better life, and the band's debut release automatically reached the Billboard charts. 3 Doors Down's sophomore release Away from the Sun came out in 2002, quickly going gold. The LP Seventeen Days followed in 2005, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and going platinum in its first week of being released. 3 Doors Down released their eponymous album in 2008, also heading straight for the top of the Billboard 200.
