Bullets and Octane has a gritty, tough sound that seems to meld the genres of hard rock and punk rock together. They have been on the scene since 2000, playing their particular brand of music with such determination and fierceness that the result creates an enthusiastic roar within the crowd. They lit up the scene in 2003 with a highly successful EP called One Night Stand Rock N' Roll Band and quickly followed up with their first full-length album called The Revelry. With several solid examples of their recording abilities behind them, Bullets and Octane toured with such notable names as Social Distortion, Bad Religion and Flogging Molly.
The frontman for the hard rock outfit is Gene Louis, who grew up in St. Louis. As a child, he had a strong influence in music from his father who was a jazz drummer. The young Louis often sat in on his father's many gigs in and around the city. From there, Louis and his longtime friend Brent Clawson made the decision to start Bullets and Octane and bring the sounds of rock and punk to the forefront of the music industry once again.
Bullets and Octane have a strong fan base, especially in California where the band began, but they have also branched out to Europe, as a result of their continuous touring. In 2006, they released their second album called In the Mouth of the Young, which produced such hits as "Going Blind," "My Disease," "Last Mistake" and "I Ain't Your Savior." Their rough and tough sound of rock is the praise of both fans and critics alike, all of whom are eager for a dose of the type of rock that you can really bang your head to.
