Although he may be known as the newest member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Cappadonna was actually performing with the group for years before they made him an official member. He got into hip-hop music when the genre was just taking off and started absorbing everything coming on the scene while developing his own unique sound. He and the other members of the Wu-Tang Clan had gone to school together in Staten Island, New York when they were still youngsters. He had been writing and rapping for awhile, but Cappadonna first truly hit the scene in 1995 when he was on Only Built for Cuban Linx by Raekwon.

Cappadonna wasn't satisfied being featured on other artists' work, however. He released his first solo album in 1998 called The Pillage. That album shot to the top of the charts, reaching number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number three on the Billboard 200 chart. Fans of the Wu-Tang Clan loved the album and saw the unbelievable talent that Cappadonna possessed. He wanted a few years before releasing his next album, Yin and the Yang, which dropped in 2001. That album reached number 19 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 51 on the Billboard 200.

He has been known to feature other Wu-Tang Clan members on many of his tracks, making fans even more excited to take a listen. He released The Struggle in 2003, which did not receive the same reception as his past two projects. He had a prolific year in 2008 and released both The Cappatilize Project and Slang Prostitution. His fans are used to seeing outstanding talent on his albums, and his latest releases did not disappoint. He has proven himself as an artist worth watching in the hip-hop community.
