When "Magic" first hit the airwaves in 2005, it must have made some listeners blush. The song summed up Charlie Wilson's talent for making love with his voice, opening the track by telling the woman he's serenading that "tonight I'm gonna be showing you things/that you've never seen before/so just sit back and relax/Because tonight I'm going to be doing some things/no man has ever done."

Steamy and full of confidence, Charlie Wilson has been entertaining the public since the '60s with The Gap Band, eventually going solo in 2000. Not missing a beat, he returned and sent his name right back up to the top of the charts.

In 1967, Wilson formed the Gap band with his two brothers, Robert and Ronnie. Growing up in Tulsa, OK, they had been raised in a Pentecostal church, often performing music there as well. The three Wilson brothers eventually directed their efforts toward professional endeavors, playing local gigs while they were still teenagers. Flash forward to 1979, when they had come of age, and "Shake" became a Top 5 single. "Steppin' Out" and "I Don't Believe You Want to Get Up and Dance (Oops, Up Side Your Head)" followed in 1980.

With numerous hits under their belt, they slowed down as the '80s progressed. Charlie Wilson released a coolly-received solo album in 1992, but re-fired his creative engine in 2000, releasing the aptly named Bridging the Gap. In 2005, Charlie, Last Name Wilson rose to number three on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums chart, and ranked number 10 on the Billboard Top 200. "Magic" had a lot to do with that, proving the R&B artist still had the power to make his listeners' knees tremble.

In 2006, he continued to impress by releasing a follow-up, Sexual Healing. Charlie Wilson's proved he's a true master--in the studio or the bedroom.
