Craig David is the R&B/ragga artist that made a name for himself as the music sensation who ushered in the millennium at the age of 19. David was born May 5, 1981. He is a native of Southhampton, England, and started out simply with just a love of funkadelic hip-hop and urban stylings, while also being credited with redefining garage. Even though he did not win any of his six nominations at the Brit Awards in 2001, he had the support and accord of several prominent artists including Elton John, U2 and Robbie Williams.

David had his start on a local station PCRS 106.5FM, and was soon playing club gigs. Before he knew it he was coming in contact with some musical greats. His early hobbies boded well for him, having had experience writing lyrics since he was 14 he was prepared to become big. He was already an industry veteran, having written and recorded several popular songs by the age of 16. He solidified his place as an artist with his debut single "Fill Me In" which went straight to number one. This success made him the youngest British male artist ever to have a number one single.

Craig David's smooth sounds and soft, sensual lyrics are one of the reasons that he has remained at the top of the game since his advent onto the music stage. Since his first success, David has released several major albums. Born To Do It was the album that debuted the collaborative effort between Craig David and Mark Hill. 2002 saw the production of the album Slicker Than Your Average, which contained the clubbing hit single "What's You Flava?" and proved that his talent was definitely intact and innate. Since then David has released several more excellent albums - The Story Goes... is from 2005, Trust Me ('07), and Slicker Than Your Average. Craig David is definitely a star to keep the British musical legacy alive.
