Belting out pop-juiced soul music with a smooth and sultry style like only she could, R&B legend Diana Ross lured America out of the rock era and into her sparkling eyes and wistful songs. Number ones like "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Love Hangover," Endless Love" and "Take Me Higher" secured her a place in history, but it is Ross' sizzling persona that will have folks remembering her for the rest of time.

Ross got her musical start with the Supremes, a trio originally called the Primettes, composed of Ross, Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard, in the ‘60s. The soul singers were undoubtedly the most successful black performers of their time, igniting a fire under Ross that launched her into a solo career of her own after the group's last number one hit, "Someday We'll Be Together," was released in 1969. Embarking on a solo career with Motown, Ross struck gold with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" in 1970, an instant number one. Branching out onto the big screen for the first time, Ross starred in the film Lady Sings the Blues, a biography about Billie Holiday, in 1972, earning a nomination for an Academy Award. Continuing to pursue acting on the side of her blowout musical career, Ross went on to release Touch Me in the Morning in 1973, which featured the title track, a duet with Marvin Gaye. It was immediately another number one hit. Ross was already an established superstar, but collaborations with other celebrities like Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie just kept her name up in the sky.

In 1993, Ross released a four-CD set entitled Forever Diana, followed in 1994 by her autobiography. Pouring soul right into the new millennium, Ross released the 2000 album Gift of Love, which was followed up by a concert featuring the Supremes. Ross' lost album Blue was released in 2006, and 2007 brought a compilation of love songs entitled I Love You, also helping her to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from BET.
