Latin heartthrob Enrique Iglesias has changed the sound of Latin music. The singer, born in Madrid and raised in Miami with his famous father, Julio Iglesias, Enrique has given Latin pop music a whole new name.

The singer got his start with his high school play Hello Dolly. Later, while at the University of Miami, he auditioned under the name Enrique Martinez and found success with the anonymity in Central America, promoting his demos and eventually signing with Fonovisa under his real name. The Mexican label helped create his self-titled debut album, which was recorded in Spanish and today has sold over seven million copies. The album earned Iglesias his first gold album in Portugal in just seven days. His second album, Vivir, featuring the crossover hit single "Vivir," reached the US Top 40 chart, while "Por Amarte" was used for the telenovela Marisol, changing its lyrics to include the name Marisol.

His debut album for Interscope was also his debut album in English. Enrique Iglesias, released in 1999, featured the platinum singles "Bailamos," "Be With You" and "Could I have This Kiss Forever." In 1996 he won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Performance for his 1995 English album Enrique Iglesias. That same year he won Billboard Artist of the Year, Billboard's Album of the Year for Vivir, and two American Music Awards. He stunned millions with his 2000 performance at the Super Bowl halftime show, parading his sultry Latin voice and smooth dance moves.

Iglesias's fourth Spanish album, Quizas, was preceded by his multiplatinum English language album Escape. He has been the only artist ever to see such crossover success in the same year. His most recent album, Insomniac, released in 2007, showed his talent yet again. During his video shoot for "Escape," he met his long time girlfriend, Russian tennis player Anna Kournikova.
