Hailing from Norway, Flunk is one of today's most prominent electronic music bands. The band initially began as a project between members Jo Bakke and Ulf Nygarrd in Oslo, Norway in 2000 and subsequently took off with their carefully coordinated electronic beats. Soon enough, the duo gathered more members that included Anja Oyen Vister and Erik Ruud. In 2002, the band, known as Flunk, released their first single, a cover of New Order's song "Blue Monday." The song dropped in April of that same year and was extremely well received in the UK and was also noticed throughout North America and in Europe. A follow-up debut album, For Sleepyheads Only, was released soon afterwards and generated even more positive reviews throughout Norway.
Their debut album was still making headlines the following year, so much so in fact that the band members decided to release Treat Me Like You Do - For Sleepyheads Only Remixed in June 2003. Afterwards, Flunk focused primarily on songs for their second album called Morning Star, which hit the store shelves in March 2004. The next year, Play America started making music headlines with songs like "I've Been Waiting All My Life To Leave You," "Skysong" and "All My Dreams on Hold."
The most recent work for the band involves the album Democracy (Personal Stereo Versions). It was released in late 2007 and includes some of their most creative work yet. Some hit singles are "Diet of Water and Love," "If We Kiss" and "Personal Stereo." Flunk certainly earns an above average score with music critics and has proved to be one of the most recognized electronic bands to hit the music market in a long time.
