Rock quartet Fuel is most famous for a trio of singles, "Shimmer," "Innocent" and "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)," which was famously covered by rocker Chris Daughtry on America Idol.

Fuel is comprised of singer/guitarist Brett Scallions, guitarist Carl Bell, bassist Jeff Abercrombie and drummer Kevin Miller, who all hail from Pennsylvania. The quartet released their independent EP, Porcelain, in 1996 and the album's single, "Shimmer," became an instant local favorite. Porcelain sold over 10,000 copies and was followed by Fuel's full-length debut, Sunburn, in 1998. Despite "Shimmer" fueling the album and band's popularity initially, Sunburn also contained popular singles "Bittersweet," "Jesus or a Gun" and the album's title track was featured on the soundtrack for the third installation of the cult horror flick Scream. Sunburn eventually went platinum and two years later Fuel issued Something Like Human. Fuel's sophomore full-length included the group's highest charting single to date, "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)," which charted at number 17 on the Billboard charts.

In 2003 Fuel made its way back to the Billboard charts with "Falls on Me" off their third LP, Natural Selection. On the heels of the release of Best of Fuel in 2005 frontman Scallions amicably left the group in early 2006. When American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry covered Fuel's hit song "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)," the group was impressed and asked him to replace Scallions; Daughtry declined Fuel's offer but the band found a new singer in Toryn Green by that summer, just in time to begin recording their fourth studio album, Angels & Devils. When Kevin Miller was unable to make some live performances, ex-Godsmack drummer Tommy Stewart filled in and eventually became a permanent Fuel member, however Stewart was unable to record Angels & Devils so Nine Inch Nails/A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese stepped in during the studio sessions. Angels & Devils was finally delivered in August 2007. Fuel's official website remains unclear about the future of the band, much to the dismay of Fuel fans!
