He's hunky, talented and has that smooth British accent, and that's not even the best of Gavin Rossdale. The post-grunge vocalist made his rise in the music industry as one fourth of the rock band Bush, making a lasting impression on America with the band and sparking up his celebrity status with a high-profile marriage to the edgy dance-rock diva Gwen Stefani.

Rossdale was born in raised in London, England, enthralled by music from the start. The vocalist's older sister's boyfriend taught him to play the bass in his youth, and Rossdale later picked up the guitar, starting his first band Midnight while honing his musical style. Although nothing came of Midnight, Rossdale soon met guitarist Nigel Pulsford (King Blank) at a bar in the early ‘90s and the two eventually started recording music with bassist Dave Parsons and drummer Robin Goodridge, dubbing themselves Bush after the Shepherd's Bush area of London. Striking up a grunge-sounding type of music was extremely rare for Bush as grunge was primarily an American trend, but the band persisted with their signature sound and was eventually welcomed into the U.S. with their hit single "Everything Zen," which first played on L.A.'s HROQ radio station in 1994 and spread the wildfire of Bush to the country.

Bush quickly took over for Nirvana in the post-grunge era, and as the band was welcomed into the U.S. Rossdale started dating Gwen Stefani, with whom he became engaged in 2001. Bush went on permanent hiatus soon thereafter, and Rossdale embarked on a solo career that included music and acting gigs. After a short fling with the band Institute, Rossdale continued on with his label Interscope to release a solo album; Wanderlust appeared in 2008, and the vocalist has enjoyed great success with the album's first hit single "Love Remains the Same."
