Injecting house music with a dose of spirituality, Glenn Underground has earned a reputation for being a producer of the deepest conviction. House DJs are almost guaranteed to have some of his work in their collections and his disco and jazz roots have become somewhat of a calling card through his career.

Growing up in Chicago, Underground often found himself as a young boy marveling at the talents of his uncle's band. Once he got his hands on a keyboard, something clicked and his drive to make music received an endless supply of fuel. He began DJing and producing tracks in the early ‘90s. His mixed version of the Donna Summer tune "I Feel Love" put him on the map in his hometown. He was signed to Cajual records and began to release material.

After a move to Peacefrog, Underground cut his first full-length, Atmosfear, in 1996, which was followed by an EP, Secrets of CVO. The latter displayed the DJ's affinity for ‘70s funk and his love for jazz. Later that year The Jerusalem EPs signaled a brief departure from the heavy jazz-influenced music Underground had become known for and came equipped with a more techno-driven sound.

Underground founded the Strictly Jaz Unit, a meeting of the musical minds, so to speak, between he, Boo Williams, Brian Harden, Tim Harper and Cei-Bei. After a collaborative release with the group, Underground dropped A Story of Deepness in 1999. Along with the familiar disco and jazz influences, A Story of Deepness featured several tracks with gospel roots, cementing Underground a musical visionary and one of the deepest DJs to ever spin a record.

In 2000 he released Lounge Excursions, a self-explanatory collection of tracks seated in jazz-funk. In 2008 came Jive Assing/Manzana de Mi Vida, his first release in eight years.
