These hilarious British rappers boast strong accents and lots of knee-slapping jokes to keep their fans entertained. The bandmates that comprise Goldie Lookin Chain spent plenty of time exercising their right to be lazy, hanging out and turning up their noses at the mere thought of having to be responsible. Finally, though, the members got some encouragement when they went to the recording studio and started making demo tapes to release to eagerly awaiting fans. One of the first recordings to make it out to the public was Don't Blame the Chain. The effort proved to be an enormous hit among Newport's youth. Coming up next were Addiction, Return of the Red Eye and The Party Album.

One of the most telling signs of the band was their ability to tell jokes and they succeeded in playing a prank on the press and their fans when they boasted that classical music phenomenon Charlotte Church was in fact their backup singer on several tracks that included "Stick It in Cider" and "Monkey Love." The whole claim was entirely a rouse, and it actually helped propel the members of Goldie Lookin Chain straight to fame. Everyone seemed to know who these rapping' jokesters were.

Goldie Lookin Chain opened for bands that included Super Furry Animals, the Streets and the Darkness, while boasting their own popularity with singles like the classic "Half Man, Half Machine." Next up was the mainstream hit album Guns Don't Kill People, Rappers Do that put the band on the top of the charts. They went onto release Greatest Hits in 2004 and then followed up with the album Straight Outta Newport. Fans of this band love their ingenuity and their knack for always being able to crack a smile on the faces of their harshest critics.
