J.Lo, as she is now popularly known, is one of today's most successful Latin American musical artists. But J.Lo is more than just a musician; she is a singer, record producer, actress, dancer, fashion designer and television producer. She is a pop culture phenomenon marketing her name on products sold throughout the world. Lopez treats her success with determination, her eyes set on the top rung of the ladder, where she seems to be in a perpetual climb. Her fans are numerous, passionate and completely devoted to this Latin American sensation and J.Lo herself seems wholeheartedly devoted to them.

Jennifer Lopez grew up in the South Bronx, New York to Puerto Rican parents. She developed a keen interest in dancing while she was a young adult, often performing at Manhattan night clubs. She was introduced to a wider audience when she appeared in various different rap music videos in the early 1990s and also appeared on the television show In Living Color. Her foot was in the acting career door and she would soon star in such prominent films as My Family, Money Train, Jack, Selena, Out of Sight, Maid in Manhattan and The Wedding Planner.

Lopez's music career followed her emergence into the television and film scene. Her debut album, On the 6 was released in 1999. It featured the popular singles "If You Had My Love" and "Waiting For Tonight." Her next album turned out to be even more successful than her first attempt. J. Lo was released on January 23, 2001, and it debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200. Fans were enthralled with the tracks titled "Love Don't Cost a Thing," "Play," "I'm Real" and "Ain't It Funny." Since 2001, J.Lo has been cranking out the records on an almost continuous basis like This Is Me...Then, Rebirth and most recently Brave.

J.Lo did not stop at music. She launched a clothing line in 2003 that features jeans, coats, belts, purses, jewelry, lingerie, hats, gloves and scarves as well as a perfume line called "Glow by J.Lo." The line was a phenomenon in the perfume industry and she went on to release other fragrances in the following years.

J.Lo might be considered a mastermind of marketing. With her successes in the music and acting industries, she built upon her popularity by making her name a "name-brand." Today she is more successful than she was yesterday and for tomorrow there is no doubt that Jennifer Lopez's sights are set high.
