Jeremy Camp is a big name in the contemporary Christian music world, and with rock influences like U2, Creed and Jars of Clay, it is easy to see why Camp has gained such a wide fan base among the Christian rock set. Born in 1978 in Lafayette, Indiana to a pastor father who taught him to play the guitar, Camp attended a small Christian college in Southern California. Camp became involved in his school's music ministry program after one of the worship leaders heard his music wafting from his dorm room. He began performing at state-wide Christian music events and recorded a self-released album called Burden Me in 2000.

Camp found romance with a young woman named Melissa while performing at a Christian event and although the relationship ended after a few months, fate intervened and Camp and Melissa eventually met again. Unfortunately, during their time apart Melissa discovered she had ovarian cancer and was consequently hospitalized. Melissa and Jeremy married but she sadly passed away after their honeymoon in 2001, just twenty-one years old. As a result of this tragic event, Camp used both the faith that guided him through this hard time and his sorrow in his music. In 2002 he signed with BEC Recordings and released his first nationally distributed album, Stay. The album was a commercial and critical success, with five songs soaring to the top of the Christian singles chart.

After suffering the devastating loss of his wife, Camp was enjoying the success of his album Stay and touring to support the album. Camp met singer Adrienne Leisching, former Benjamin Gate singer, while on tour and the couple were married in 2003. Camp, who now has two daughters with wife Adrienne, released his second BEC album, Carried Me- The Worship Project. The album earned Camp two Dove Awards for Best New Artist and Best Male Vocalist and reached gold status like Stay. Camp released two albums in 2005, live disc Live Unplugged from Franklin TN and studio recording Restored. In 2006 Camp's Beyond Measure made its debut.
