Heath Ledger lookalike Joe Nichols has been has been stabbing the hearts of women everywhere since he exploded onto the country music scene in 2002 with the single "The Impossible."

Born in Rodgers, AR, Nichols was raised by his mother, though would often watch his father perform at VFW dates. Growing up on classic country music, Nicholas quickly fell in love with the music of his ancestors. While in high school he succumbed to peer pressure and started listening and playing rock music like the rest of his friends. It wasn't until after high school when he took a night job as a DJ that Nichols focused once again on his original love of country. He met producer Randy Edwards and signed a recording contract with Intrasound in 1990. It wasn't until six years later that Nichols released his debut album, Joe Nichols, but saw little success with the 10-track disc.

The youngster continued to pursue the music, and when Warner Brothers came a knocking, Nichols jumped in. That little brush of luck left him out in the cold when the record label dumped him, but he continued to work in the area pursing other agencies that were interested in his sound. He set up a songwriting partnership with Brent Rowan, and eventually found Universal South, releasing Man with a Memory in 2002. With the success of the single "The Impossible," the record label reissued his debut album and renamed it Six of One, Half Dozen of the Other. That year, the Academy of Country Music named Nichols its Top New Male Vocalist and he garnered three Grammy nominations. The buzz continued around this new artist, with a nomination at the CMA's for its Horizon New Artist Award and a new album, Revelation, followed by 2007's Real Things. At this point, this is little that can stop this impossibly attractive and talented singer.
