Jon Randall grew up in Dallas, Texas, the son of a police officer who played a little bluegrass on the side. He learned the guitar at an early age, and by the time he graduated high school Jon knew that he was destined to become a country music star. Randall packed his bags for Nashville, Tennessee, ready to strike it rich in country music. But like most country dreamers, Randall found that driving to Music City and making it in Music City were two completely different things. Within months Jon Randall was in a gorilla suit, delivering balloons to parties while rotten little children tugged at his costume. After a long, long journey to the top, Jon Randall upgraded the monkey fur to faded denim, traded the balloons for a guitar and switched out the nagging brats for swooning high-heeled women. Nowadays he's living his country music dream. But it took a while.

In the summer of 1988 Jon Randall got a job as a kind of wandering country music minstrel in Opryland, a Nashville theme park. He was discovered there and promptly given a role in Holly Dunn's country band. Jon Randall's career shot skyward when he auditioned for and won a role in the band of Emmylou Harris, the Nash Ramblers. The Ramblers won a Grammy for a live album, At the Ryman.

Accolades for his guitar skills and backup vocals made Randall one of the most sought-after musicians in the business, and he has the resume to prove it. Over the course of his career he's notched time with Sam Bush, Lyle Lovett, Patty Loveless, Kid Rock, Lee Ann Womack and Linda Ronstadt, to name a few. Jon Randall also has had a fine solo career, one which has produced several albums beginning with 1995's What You Don't Know. More albums and collaborations are expected from Jon Randall as his star continues to rise in the world of country music.
