Keith Green always exhibited a rebellious nature. He ran away from home the first time when he was just 15 years old, and even at that time it was obvious that Keith Green was looking for musical adventure and spiritual truth. While seeking to find his rightful place in the world, Green discovered drugs, free-love and married a fellow musician. However, Keith's real discovery came when he decided to define himself as a Jewish Christian. With a new definition of himself as a devout follower of Jesus Christ, his passion for music also began to blossom and this time his focus would not be achieving worldwide fame, but instead he would devote himself to spreading the word of God through song.

Keith Green's music was largely based on his own personal struggles and his music was soon attracting crowds of thousands. His songs were largely defined as gospel and contemporary Christian music. "Your Love Broke Through," "You Put This Love in My Heart" and "Asleep in the Light." His strong devotion to God, evident not only in his music, but also through his ministry work implored people to find their own faith in God. With often angry tirades launched at the gathered crowds, Green would call on everyone to repent, encouraging everyone to follow the word of the Lord in every aspect of their lives.

One of Keith Green's most remarkable decisions came when he refused to charge money for any of his concerts or albums in 1979. It was yet another indication of his true dedication to his religion. Unfortunately, Keith Green's life was cut short when the small Cessna plane that was carrying him and two of his children crashed. Although Green died unexpectedly, his passion for Christianity and the music that came to define him continues to live on.
