When life gives you lemons, turn them into Lemon D and boogie the night away! Lemon D aka Lemonade, a drum n bass mastermind and staple on the club scene throughout the 1990s, spun several hits throughout his musical prime, his electric music protruding a soulful jazzy style mixed with b-lines and a thick bumpin' beat. The South London native has been making clubgoers sweat for more than a decade with his groovin' tunes, and innovative DJ has helped revive the jungle/drum n bass scene since the early 1990s.
When he's not projecting himself as the mighty Lemon D, the musical genius behind the moniker is known as Kevin King, a music mixer from South London and producer of jungle music. King's reputation as a drum n bass hero has come throughout his work with Planet Earth, Prototype, V Recordings, Metalheadz and Epic, yet Lemon D has kept his music consistent throughout the years. Spinning out innovative drum n bass music in the early 1990s, Lemon D appeared on the scene with jazz-injected jungle music, giving his career a push in 1993 with the help of Metalheadz, which led to engineering work with J. Majik and Dillinja. Dubbing himself Lemon D/Le Monde as the French term for "the world," King released some of his own early works while continuing to keep his connections with Dillinja. Hit singles like "Going Gets Tough" and "This is Los Angeles" lit up the dance floors throughout the late ‘90s, and by 1997 Lemon D had signed a recording contract with the Belgian techno label R&S, also securing his place in the electronica realm by co-founding the label Valve with Dillinja. Lemon D and Dillinja released the album Hertz in 2003, and the duo has continued producing and spinning tunes well into the mid-2000s.
