Deeply inspired by musical storytellers such as Bruce Springsteen, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks, the Irish contemporary pop/rock musician Lesley Roy is a little bit of each of these artists, all rolled up into the single crystal clear voice of the young fresh Irish talent. Roy's light but passionate music has begun to infiltrate radio waves overseas, and she's already scored hits on the U.S. pop charts despite releasing her debut album just months ago.

Roy was born and raised in Balbriggan, Ireland, raised by a mother who was a musician in the wedding-band circuit in Dublin. Experiencing the musical lifestyle from her youth, Roy was heavily influenced by her mother's music, starting to branch out into her own style of music at age seven when she started playing the guitar. The child prodigy started writing her own songs by age 11, and when she was 15 Roy had started recording demos, working with producer Rory O'Connor and eventually inking a record deal with independent Religion Music label. After a short stint of time spent recording music, Roy caught the eyes and ears of Jive Records' Jeff Foster, who struck a deal with Religion to jointly be responsible for Roy as her record labels. "There'll Be Angels," Roy's debut single, was released in 2008, followed quickly by the full-length debut Silently Screaming. After a move to New York, Roy has struck fame with her 2008 album Unbeautiful, a darling release that already has peaked at number five on the Top Heatseekers chart, propelled by the title track that has charted on the Pop 100. Since releasing Unbeautiful, Lesley Roy has embarked upon a string of live performances, touring the U.S. while promoting her album Unbeautiful and the recent single "Thinking Out Loud," which MTV has already snatched up.
