Lonestar had their start as a dyed in the wool Texas Band; they originally named themselves Texassee. They played their first concert at Nashville's Backstage Pass in 1993, where a booking agent heard them and immediately added them to his roster. Since then they have achieved amazing heights; more than 30 of their songs have been on the Country Music charts and of those nearly 10 have made it to number one spots, and a couple have earned themselves number two spots on the Adult Contemporary charts.

Lonestar's work as a group has been well-recognized since their beginnings. Their first hit "Tequilla Talkin'," only two years after their debut concert, reached number eight on the Hot Country Singles and Tracks. Since then the band has produced ten albums and have received overwhelming praise for their musical achievements. It was a part of their eponymous debut album, which was produced after they signed with BNA records, following a year of touring involving over 500 concert performances.

The group is currently made up of four members including Cody Collins who hails from Pace, Florida and is the lead singer after having replaced Richie MacDonald in 2007. Dean Sams, originally from Plano Texas, plays Keyboard and is the background vocalist. On the drums is Keech Rainwater, also from Plano. Michael Britt, of Forth Worth, plays lead guitar and joins Dean Sams on background vocals.

With everything that the group has accomplished in the 14 years that they've been together, fans can continue to be expecting great music with a country beat. Lonestar is guaranteed to produce excellent music.
