Christian rock singer Margaret Becker has already secured 14 (!) number one radio hits songs, four Grammy nominations and three prestigious Dove Awards, but she is not slowing down anytime soon!

Becker was raised on Long Island, NY by German/Irish parents and began her singing career by joining the local coffeehouse circuit early on. Although she continuously honed her craft and took opera lessons to strengthen her voice, Becker studied journalism to have a fall back career while working as a department store bill collector and taking various odd jobs to pay the bills. Finally the fledgling singer took a leap of faith and moved to Nashville to pursue a singing career full time in 1985; she inked a songwriting deal with Sparrow Records only a few weeks after her arrival in country music's capital and one year later signed a recording contract as well.

Margaret Becker paired up with Steve Camp to deliver the album One on One in 1986, an effort which first introduced the music scene to her trademark husky voice. After touring as a backup singer for the Rick Cua Band, Becker's solo debut album, Never for Nothing, came in 1987. Never for Nothing gave birth to Becker's first hit single "Fight for God" and was followed by her sophomore release, The Reckoning. The album included two hit singles, "Light in the Darkness" and "Find Me," and paved the way for the release of several more albums (such as Immigrant's Daughter, Simple House, Grace and the Spanish language album Fiel A Ti) which fused Christian rock music with the country sounds that surrounded her.

In 1995 Becker took a break from making music to co-write a children's series, write her own book and work on other endeavors. She returned in 1998 with Falling Forward and has been officially back in the music running in the new millennium.
