There is truth to Nelly Furtado's hit song, "All Good Things (Come to an End)" like when the last song on her most recent CD plays, or when she delivers her bow after a live concert. Nelly Furtado is one of the best things to happen to the modern music industry with hits like "Promiscuous," "I'm Like a Bird," "Maneater," "Say It Right" and "All Good Things (Come to an End)." Furtado is especially known for experimenting with many different instruments, sounds, genres, vocal styles as well as languages. As a result she is a huge success internationally, garnering millions of fans worldwide.

Nelly Furtado was born in Victoria, British Columbia to Portuguese immigrants. Her attraction to music started at an early age and initially she enjoyed the sounds of hip hop and rap and interacted with many artists who specialized in these genres. Her debut album, Whoa, Nelly! was released in October 2000 and it turned out to be an enormous success. The record spawned the hits "I'm Like a Bird," "Turn off the Light" and "On the Radio (Remember the Days)." The album generated critical acclaim and her debut single won for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards. Furtado's sound was a sort of merging of cultures, and the entire feel of the album came across as innovative, upbeat and hopeful.

Furtado, quickly becoming a regular name among pop music enthusiasts, went on to release her second album titled Folklore in 2003. The second attempt did not reach the grand scale that Whoa, Nelly! reached. The record harbored a much less "poppy" sound, and the decision to veer away from pop inspired ballads alienated some of her initial fans. Her most recent album, Loose, seemed to cure the faults of the middle record by emphasizing an entirely new approach. It dripped with the dance friendly flavor of hip hop and R&B, and it became the most successful album of Furtado's career, spawning the singles "Promiscuous," "Maneater," "Say It Right" and "All Good Things (Come to an End)." Shortly afterward, she and Justin Timberlake were featured on Timbaland's successful single "Give it to Me."

Nelly Furtado has experimented with all sorts of musical genres, and with each one, she offers fans a young, energetic vibrancy that is sometimes hard to find this day in age. Her travels and her embrace of her own cultural heritage make Nelly Furtado not only one of the most well respected and popular musicians of today, but also one of the most interesting to listen to and watch on the stage.
