Paula DeAnda caught the attention of Artista executive Clive Davis after she was called in for an audition in 2006, following the airplay success of her second single "Doing Too Much." The single made it into the Billboard Top 40 early in 2006 and DeAnda's eponymous debut album was released with Artista that same year. Her audition for Clive Davis was such a success that he had signed her on the spot, after hearing her sing three songs, the Spanish "Armor Como Tu," "Doing Too Much" and "Good Girl." All three of the songs showcased her talent both as a writer and singer.

Born in San Angelo, Texas, her family moved to Corpus Christi in 2002. It was there that she first began to pursue her dream of becoming a singer/songwriter. Paula's earlier experiences with music included singing with her cousins at family get-togethers. Later on, as her talent developed she moved on to singing at weddings and other similar events. She has also had experience performing as a background vocalist on Spanish and Tejano albums since she was just 11 years old.

DeAnda has enjoyed a growing success during the past two years since her debut album was released. Her fan base is keen to look at her Myspace page and she has chosen several of the songs for her next album based on the response her fans offered on her website. Since becoming a star, DeAnda has made forays into other parts of the entertainment industry, securing a key role in the 2007 movie Super Sweet Sixteen. She has also appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson as a musical guest. Her second and third releases were the EPs Walk Away (Remember Me) and Doin' Too Much [Ringle] and were both released in 2007. Fans are eagerly awaiting her next LP, which will hopefully be released in the next year.
