The most successful German outfit since the "charts were created," as goes their catch phrase, Scooter has seen 20 Top Ten hits since the German charts formed in 1956.

They began their sound in the mid ‘90s with H.P. Baxxter, keyboard player and sound board engineer Rick Jordan and Ferris Bueller, along with their producer and managing director of KONTOR Records Jens Thele re-formed the remix team the Loop. When their debut single "Vallee de Larmes" appeared it became a huge hit in the techno dance club world, along with the likeminded "Hyper Hyper," a single that went commercially mainstream though its beats were anything but. The single sold over 700,000 in Germany alone and paved the way for a strong career.

Their next string of Top Five hits led them to their debut LP ...And the Beat Goes On. After the success of "Hyper Hyper" Scooter continued to record more hit singles and got their first British Top 20 single with "Back in the UK," followed by another album, Our Happy Hardcore and another, Wicked. In 1997 their single "Track" was the first techno single to use metal guitar riffs, and the difference earned the boys a gold record.

Over the next few years they continued to mesh their classic rock influences and Celtic folklore with techno dance club beats to see more albums and awards. Though over the years a few members have changed, the original founding members Baxxter, Jordan and Thele have remained Scooter's strong holds. In 2000 the album Sheffield appeared with hits "She's the Sun" and "I'm Your Pusher," followed by We Bring the Noise and Encore, a live album. "Weekend!" "Maria," and "Jigga! Jigga!" were hot club anthems by 2003 when their Stadium Techno Experience was released, followed by a tribute album to the group's long time inspiration, KLF.
