Often thrown into dance mixes with artists like Bob Sinclar, Calvin Harris and the inevitable Daft Punk, the French trio Stardust made a poignant stop at the club scene in the late '90s. Most notorious for the hit song "Music Sounds Better with You" and its cheesy and inexpensively-made music video, Stardust made a lasting impression on mid-tempo house music with the number one dance music/club play song in 1998.

Fronted by one half of the electronic superstar group Daft Punk, Stardust's Thomas Bangalter led the way for filter-disco tracks to follow in the music industry. Bangalter joined French artists Alan Braxe and Benjamin Diamond in the house group Stardust, an outfit that lasted for only the blink of an eye but made an unshakable impression. Formed in 1998 in Paris, France, Stardust came about after Bangalter focused his attention to the group when Daft Punk was on temporary hiatus. Bangalter had previously been working with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo as the duo Daft Punk, but he also started the Roule label that put out 12-inch recordings from artists like Roy Davis Jr. and Romanthony, as well as some of his own music, also.

Joining Stardust as a side project off the similar-sounding acid house music of Daft Punk, Bangalter led the way for the anthem of the celebratory music of the late ‘90s. Stardust was catapulted into the spotlight in 1998 with the group's hit song "Music Sounds Better with You," Stardust's one and only single to record and release. The hit single features a warm, breezy feel-good tune, an instant number one on the dance charts. "Music Sounds Better with You" lit up dance floors at the electronica hotspot Ibiza, eventually licensed by Virgin and easily reaching international acclaim. After the song was released, Virgin offered Bangalter three million dollars to produce a Stardust LP, yet the mixmaster turned down the offer and returned to Daft Punk instead.
