Not everybody can boast two successful and highly respected career paths. In fact, most people throw their dedication behind only one. Ariadna Thalia Sodi Miranda Mottola however makes holding down two careers look like a piece of cake. Thalia, as she is more commonly known is a Mexican singer and actress, rising to prominence after her appearance on several telenovelas, which were broadcast around the world. As a result she has been affectionately referred to as the "Queen of the Telenovelas." Our budding star did not stop at the small screen, however. Soon after her television career began, Thalia picked up and moved to Los Angeles, California where she prepared for a solo career as a singer.

In 1990 Thalia released her first self-titled album. The single "Un Pacto Entre Los Dos," was an immediate hit and garnered her much attention across the globe. Her second and third albums, Mundo De Cristal and Love, were released soon afterwards and both records eventually achieved platinum status. At the same time as her music career was launching, Thalia's acting career began to take off. Her first experiences on the small screen while in Mexico were garnering attention worldwide. She elaborated on her initial stories and developed a series of telenovelas all based around the well-known Cinderella story, where the main character is born into a life of poverty and subsequently meets a wealthy young man whom she falls in love with.

In the mid 1990's Thalia released her first mainstream hit album, En Extasis, a record that featured the popular song "Piel Morena." She was also an integral part to the soundtrack of the Disney movie Anastasia, where she was featured singing a Spanish version of the song "Journey to the Past." Thalia was buoyed by all of the attention and praise she was receiving from fans and critics alike. One of her greatest albums surfaced with the release of Amor a la Mexicana, which featured the hit songs "Amor A La Mexicana," "Por Amor" and "Mujer Latina." Her success has continued on into the 2000's with El Sexto Sentido, and Thalia, the latter of which had several chart topping hits and also was nominated for several awards. With a background as an actress and singer, Thalia has paved her pathway to success and you will surely enjoy the sultry sounds of her voice.
