The Hooters hit it big in the 1980s and have been making music together ever since. They mix rock, folk, reggae and other sounds to create a sound that fans love. The Hooters came together in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1980 with founding band members Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian. Bazilian lends his talents on vocals, keyboards, mandolin, harmonica and sax while Hyman was on vocals, keyboard and accordion. The duo first played together in the group Baby Grand, which released a few albums before disbanding in the late 1970s. They added John Lilley on guitar, David Uosikkinen on drums and Rob Miller on bass to complete the lineup. Miller would later be replaced by Fran Smith, Jr.

They started playing around Philadelphia, which gave them an incredible loyal following of fans. While working on their own songs, Bazilian and Hyman also wrote material for Cyndi Lauper's album in 1983. The band released their debut album, Amore, that same year. The album started gaining more fans across the country and they signed to Columbia Records soon after. They released Nervous Night in 1985, and the album was a national success. It reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 with singles like "All You Zombies," "And We Danced," and "Where Do the Children Go."

The Hooters followed up their successful 1985 release with One Way Home in 1987. The album reached number 27 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold. Their 1989 release, Zig Zag, was their last album to chart, reaching number 115 on the Billboard 200. They were dropped from Columbia, but found another home soon after. They released a few studio albums over the next few years as well as live albums and greatest hits albums. They have continued to release albums into the 2000s and had four different albums come out in 2007.
