With a tip of his stylish cowboy hat, Trace Adkins said hello to the country music world in 1996 with his highly successful album, Dreamin' Out Loud. Since then, Adkins has been a permanent fixture in the industry, churning out records and captivating fans' attention with his classic style of country songs. His specialties include traditional old-time anthems and soulful stories that conjure up deep emotions in his listeners. Adkins, now a veteran in the industry, has blazed a path for other aspiring musicians to follow. He is neither stuck in the past nor far-reaching into the future. He is an example of the present status of the country music industry; defiant and sturdy with a slightly noticeable twang.

Adkins started out his music career by immersing himself in the world of honky tonk, playing in bars around Nashville and appealing to a broad base of listeners. This exposure is what landed him a contract with Capitol Records and by this time Adkins knew that his days as a little-known artist were over. Dreamin' Out Loud featured several singles including the number one song "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing." Later on in the 1990s Adkins released a couple more albums, but did not see the same success he had with his debut record. It was only a few years later that Adkins struck fame again with Chrome, which reached the top five in the country albums charts.

With his career at a new high, Adkins was more confident in his singing and performing abilities and soon released a Greatest Hits collection, Comin' on Strong and Songs About Me. Most recently Adkins has enjoyed success with several hit singles that include "I Got My Game On" and "You're Gonna Miss This." The latter song eventually became Adkins' third Number One hit on the Hot Country Songs as well as one of his most successful singles to date.
