510Amber ZContinuing the Quest series of PC games for mobile, Inca Quest is a bubble-popping adventure very much like the old Puzzle Bobble arcade game from Taito where players launch multi-colored bubbles to create sets of three or more and have them disappear. In Inca Quest however, there are a number of additions that further expand the gaming goodness. As the title states, the game sports an ancient Incan theme and therefore instead of bubbles, you’ll be launching multi-colored coins to clear the screen. Along with the coins, extra power-up pieces can be found that have magical powers to overcome curses or other obstacles in your way. These can explode groups, freeze time or provide a shooting guide, just to name a few. They can be found on the game board or also purchased between levels with the money earned from clearing coins. The three modes available are Puzzle, Adventure and Survival and though the same mechanic of launching coins is present in all, the goals are different. In Puzzle, preset patterns are set that must be cleared with only the few coins given to launch. If you fail to solve the puzzle in two tries, a Hint can be accessed but this will cost you a life. There are 10 puzzle sets with 10 levels in each, making for 100 total puzzles to solve. Adventure mode puts you on a quest through 40 levels of Incan temples in search of gold and other untold riches. An amusing storyline is included. Survival puts you in a battle against an angry Shaman where you must survive his trial for three minutes before being able to access the next level of the Lost Survival Temple. As you can see, there is a lot of game to be played here and with one-thumb controls for choosing angle, launching the coins, or swapping the coins to launch, it is very simple for anyone to understand and play. Inca Quest is yet another PC-to-mobile conversion that is bound to please casual gamers. It’s not an original idea but the special power-ups and hindrances created by the curses add more depth to a simple, already challenging game. The tons of levels ensure the fun will be long lasting and that those interested will get their money’s worth.
