Aaron + Jeoffrey Biography
The apple truly doesn't fall far from the tree, as the father/son duo of Aaron Jeffrey has explored new ways in which contemporary gospel music can be shared with the family. Father Jeffrey Benward, in the music business since the 70s, gained notoriety with the Christian music industry as a talented singer and songwriter with such hits as "Let The Church Rise," and "A Man of God." The Ft. Wayne native learned of his son's interest in the business only after Aaron left his soccer, music and academic scholarship at Bellmont University in Nashville, TN.Aaron Jeffrey signed with Star Song/Chordant in 1994 and immediately began the contemporary pop recordings with their self titled debut album, released just a year later. The album, produced by Jeff Silvey, Billy Simon and veteran Brian Tankersley, has an equal share of both father and son vocals on all ten tracks. Hoping to create a piece that would be powerful enough to close their concerts, "He is," written by Jeffrey and producer Silvey, describes every book in the Bible. The song is one of their most powerful hits. Flawless production and a knack for energetic melodies, the group toned down their efforts for the second album, After the Rain. This time, Aaron dominated with more of the main vocals, while his veteran father finished off the songs with harmonic melodies, for their third album, Climb. In 1999, only two years after Climb, the duo released Timeless For Every Generation, their last album to date.Their inspiration is to demonstrate to fans that father son relationships are a positive thing, especially when growing and learning with the Lord. They take their faith very seriously, and have successes with their albums because of the dedication to the church. Jeffrey and wife Candice have been married for 22 years, and have two other children along with Aaron, Sareece and Colin, who are not part of the family business.
