Belinda Peregrin Schull was born in Madrid, Spain in 1989. When she was a young child Belinda and her family crossed the ocean to finally settle in Mexico City. It was there that Belinda developed a strong passion for music, focusing on singing and performing even before she reached the age of 10. She was introduced to the public when she starred in multiple television series: Amigos X Siempre, Aventuras En El Tiempo and Complices al Rescate.By contributing her voice to the soundtracks of these programs, Belinda instantly became a star, not only in front of the camera but in the music industry as well. The soundtrack to Complices al Rescate was successful in many different countries and prompted the aspiring young singer to schedule an international tour, which featured a jam-packed playlist of songs. By the time she was 14 years old she had released her debut self-titled solo album, a record which sold hundreds of thousands of copies worldwide and put Belinda's name on the music charts. Shortly afterward, Belinda embarked on her "Party on the Flat Roof Tour," which drew in a record number of attendees.Belinda's second album, Utopia also did well on an international scale, featuring the songs "Ni Freud Ni Tu Mama," "Bella Traicion" and "Luz Sin Gravedad." Belinda, in what can be considered a smart business move, also took to recording many of her songs in English, in efforts to appeal to a more international community. Her efforts have certainly paid off, as album sales have been continuously high in the United States. Since her start in the music business she has been featured on MTV and has enjoyed the success of her CDs reach gold and platinum status. Belinda, the artist's first full length album, reached a considerable amount of success not only in Latin America, but also in other parts of world, mainly do the success Belinda achieved while working in the television studios. The record featured such hit songs as"Lo Siento," "Boba Nina Nice" and "Angel." Three years later she presented her listeners with another album to add to their CD collection, this one was called Utopia. The first single and the most popular was "Ni Frued Ni Tu Mama." Belinda also devoted her time to Utopia 2, an album in which all of the songs would be recorded in English.Belinda has been honored with many awards, including two at the MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamerica. She won for "Best Solo Artist" and "Video of the Year" for "Bella Tracion," a track that was featured on Utopia. Her musical technique is focused on the upbeat and peppy sounds of pop and her lively performances on stage provide a nice accompaniment to her singing style.
