Bill Medley Biography
In 1987 Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes made history by joining musical forces to record the hit single “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” Bill Medley, who first made his name as the Righteous Brother with the rich baritone, grew up surrounded by music. He started out his career singing with Bobby Hatfield, to form The Righteous Brothers. Together these two amazing artists produced hit songs such as “Unchained Melody” and “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling.” The duo parted ways in ’68 and Medley began to pursue a solo career, producing his hit singles like “Brown Eyed Woman” and releasing popular albums such as “Soft and Soulful” and “A Song for You.” They briefly reunited in ’74 before taking a two year gap in performing. Medley has continued as a musician for almost half a decade, but his work as one of the Righteous Brothers and his duet with Jennifer Warnes stand out in an already stellar career.Jennifer Warnes career has been an interesting and eclectic one. She has succeeded in a number of unrelated areas of pop, including contemporary, country, movie themes and as an interpreter of the famous songwriter Leonard Cohen. She was first brought to the attention of the public in 1967 on the popular TV show The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Then, in ’68 she was one of the original cast members on the Los Angeles production of Hair. That same year she released her debut album I Can Remember Everything. She continued to pursue her music in the following years and her Artisia hits compilation The Best of Jennifer Warnes was released in ’82. After “Time of My Life” was released in ’87, she released Famous Blue Raincoat which was an album of Leonard Cohen songs. The next five years she spent working on the next album The Hunter, released in ’92. Warnes further solidified her place in the music industry with her independent, privately produced solo album The Wells, in 2001.
