He is a man of many nicknames and money-making ventures, but it all started out with good old-fashioned rapping for Birdman. This Cash Money Records CEO assumes the moniker Birdman or Baby when in front on the mic, but goes by his real name, Bryan Williams, when he dons a suit to fulfill his duties as CEO of Cash Money Records. The New Orleans-bred and current Miami resident added entrepreneur to his rapping resume in 1991 when he formed the label with his brother, Ronald "Slim" Williams. With releases by Juvenile, the Hot Boys and B.G., Cash Money (as the label is known in the Dirty South) lives up to its name by producing gold and platinum records by the dozen.Although Birdman's vocals made an appearance on the Hot Boys' albums, it was when he teamed up with Cash Money's in-house producer Mannie Fresh to form Big Tymers in 1997 that he really showcased his rhymes. After a successful run with Big Tymers, Birdman branched out solo with Baby aka the #1 Stunna in 2002 and then expanded his empire by designing an urban footwear collection for Lugz, appearing in the 2005 film Beauty Shop and narrating the video game Midnight Club 3- Dub Edition. In 2005 Birdman issued his sophomore solo effort Fast Money and one year later he paired up with "surrogate son" Lil Wayne for Like Father, Like Son. Birdman's third solo album, 5* Stunna, dropped in 2007 and came loaded with the popular single "Pop Bottles," which lived up to the album's 5* title. After nearly a decade as CEO of Cash Money, Birdman (or whatever you want to call him) has cashed in on a solo career and has no plans of giving up his empire.
