Britny Fox Biography
As the original faces of glam metal,"; Britny Fox made a distinct impression on fans with their classic eighties rocker style, complete with bleached hair, long enough to braid and which would certainly give any self-proclaimed fashion aficionado shudders. But it was their sound, not their style, that earned them a respected reputation on the Billboard Charts. With their classic hits "Girlschool" and "Long Way to Love," these bad boys rocketed to stardom, performing at sold out stadiums throughout much of the late 1980s. Today, their sound still permeates through radio stations and iPODs, and the era of glam bands with long, willowy hair and glorified eye makeup is reaching a whole new generation of listeners.Britny Fox first emerged on the music scene after the release of their first self-titled album in 1988. The record paved the way for the direction of music in the years to come, and the band actually won the Metal Edge Magazine's 1988 Reader's Choice Award for Best New Band. With their prestigious title and newfound fame in the music industry, the members of Britny Fox went to work on a follow-up album called Boys in Heat, which dropped in 1989. During this time, band members came and went, but the sound of Britny Fox remained basically the same. Their third album, Bite Down Hard, hit stores in 1991, and the band was off to a tentative start in a new decade. All was not well in the world of glam metal, at least as far as the 1990s were concerned. The 1980s provided a perfect breeding ground for glam metal rock music, but the desire for the wild, big hair, heaping makeup, suit shoulder pads and the constant need to showcase one's tongue did not sit well with listeners in the 1990s who were ready to sit, sulk and brood while listening to bands like Nirvana. Britny Fox's heyday rests in the 1980s, but for their most dedicated fans, the rockers still put on a good show, taking the time to primp their hair before every concert.
