Bruce Springsteen’s popularity with mainstream fans has ebbed and flowed throughout his career, but fans of true rock and roll have never left him. He combines rock and roll influences from the 1950s and ‘60s and made them into a genre all his own. Along his way to rock success, Springsteen met some harsh critics. His talent and creativity have quieted any naysayers , giving him a legacy like no other and providing you with some of the best ringtones for your cell. Bruce Springsteen was born and raised in New Jersey as the son of a bus driver and a secretary. He started playing guitar as a youth and had his first band by the age of 14. He moved to New York City to pursue music further but was soon back in Jersey. He started with the E Street Band before his first album, Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ, in 1973. The album was not an initial success, but he began to draw fans through his live shows. His next album, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, did better, and by the 1975 release of Born to Run, Springsteen had cemented himself as a rock and roll star. From there, he had some legal troubles with his manager and released Darkness on the Edge of Town in 1978. He followed it with The River in 1980 and the mellow Nebraska in 1982. Springsteen saw success like never before in 1984 when he released Born in the U.S.A. and accompanied it with an international tour. He has seven successful singles from that album, which sold more than 10 million copies. Instead of following his hit album up with something similar, Springsteen then released the melancholy Tunnel of Love album in 1987. His next release after that was actually a double with Human Touch and Lucky Town both in 1992. He toured and worked on a movie soundtrack before returning in 1996 with The Ghost of Tom Joad. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999. He has released four albums in the 21st century: The Rising in 2002, Devils & Dust in 2005, We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions and Magic in 2007. Along his amazing musical journey, critics have taken notice. He has won multiple Grammy Awards and an Academy Award. With all of his success, it may seem like Springsteen would wind down soon, but this rocker continues to perform. Be a part of the legacy by getting some of his ringtones.
