"CPM 22 is a Brazilian hardcore punk band that first appeared in the mid ‘90s in Brazil's underground rock scene. Their name, which is an acronym for Caixa Postal Mil e Vinte e Dois (or P.O. Box 1022) came from vocalist Fernando Estefano Badaui, guitarist Luciano Garcia, guitarist Eduardo Ippolito Torrano Gomes, bassist Fernando Sanches Takara and drummer Richardo di Roberto when they came together in Sao Paulo in '95. Influenced by hard core punk rockers like the Ramones, The Misfits, Buzzcocks, Pennywise and others, CPM 22 became one of the most popular hardcore punk rockers in Brazil. The group's first few demos appeared in the late ‘90s before their debut, full length album A Alguns Quilometros de Lugar Nenhum was released independently in 2000. In 2001 the group briefly signed to the popular Brazilian label Abril Music which helped the boys release two albums, their self titled piece in 2001 and Chegou a Hora de Recomecar a year later. Both of these albums spawned hits that made the top of the charts, including ""Regina Let's Go,"" ""Tarde de Outubro,"" ""O Mundo da Voltas,"" ""Desconfio,"" ""Dias Atras,"" and ""Não Sei Viver Sem Ter Você."" Each album essentially made gold, selling 150,000 and 180,000 respectively. With their next album, 2005's Felicidade Instantanea, the group was working with Sony BMG, an even bigger mainstream label. Though the group's success continued to grow, several loyal fans felt that their punk sound had become too mainstream. Responding, CPM 22 released the single ""Inevitável,"" a return to their old school days of hardcore punk, and issued a live CD/DVD that included back to roots singles with MTV ao Vivo in 2006."
