Carlos Baute Biography

"Carlos Baute is a bona fide Venezuelan triple threat. Actually, make that quadruple threat! The singer, songwriter, actor and dancer got his start as part of the local band Los Chamos, and stardom followed in the form of a successful career as a singer and actor that finds Baute one of the top-selling male artists in his native Venezuela and also in Spain.Carlos Baute, whose full name is Carlos Roberto Baute Jiménez, was born in Caracas, Venezuela to a Spanish father and Venezuelan mother. Baute joined Los Chamos when he was just 13 and began modeling and working on a solo music career with with the popular band, also launching his acting career on the popular soap opera Destino de Mujer (Woman of Destiny) playing Peter Joseph.Shortly after inking a recording contract in 1994, Carlos Baute released Orígenes I, an Afro-Caribbean album which was followed by Orígenes II three years later; the sequel spawned the hit single ""Te Quise Olvidar."" The albums that truly made Baute's star rise as a musician were Yo Nací Para Querte and Dame de Eso, which boasted the Latin pop sensation ""El Angelito."" Toward the end of the ‘90s and the dawn of the new millennium, Baute's music began to become very successful in Spain and was featured in several television series as well as Gala Miss Spain and Gala New Year's Eve on BBC.Chris Baute's most recent album is 2008's De Mi Puño y Letra, which was preceded by an eponymous 2005 album and 2004's Peligroso.
