"Via MTV, Cheyenne Kimball became a teenage household name. But unlike other pop sensations that gained media attention because of their own versions of private school uniforms or midriff revealing tops, MTV showcased Kimball's strengths via a reality show.Born in Frisco, Texas, Kimball wrote her first song at age eight, and shortly thereafter picked up the guitar. By age 12, she was booking her own shows at local nightspots throughout north central Texas. After working the stage at home, she learned that the NBC television show America's Most Talented Kid was holding auditions in her home state. Winning a role on the 2003 series, she flew to Los Angeles, and came home a few months later as the kid winner. Seeing her perform, Song/Epic Records was impressed with the young talent and signed this budding young singer and songwriter.Already amassing something close to 200 songs, Kimball began writing and recording her debut album. Bassist Brad Smith and former Blind Melon guitarist Christopher Thorn (whom Kimball was a huge fan) joined the California recording sessions that began in 2003.Struggling to manage a normal teenage life proved to be difficult, especially when an MTV crew was following her every move. The teenage-focused network chronicled her recordings, love and family life in the television series Cheyenne, which debuted in 2006. Her single ""Hanging On"" became an instant success, making the pop and Billboard charts that year, along with her debut and only album to date, The Day Has Come. Another single, ""One Original Thing,"" was featured on the soundtrack to the movie Aquamarine. Since her solo album, Cheyenne has become a part of the Nashville country group, Gloriana. Consisting of Kimball on vocals, Tom Gossin (vocals/guitar), Rachel Reinert (vocals) and Mike Gossin (vocals/guitar), we are sure to see more of this just-legal star in the future."
