Hope resonates from the music of Chris Tomlin. It comes from the lyrics, which are uplifting, hopeful and focus on the grace of God. It is born from the excellent musical talent that Tomlin and his band have developed over the years. And most of all it comes from the work that God is doing in Tomlin's life. Not looking for fame or fortune, and making no attempt to become big names in the business, Tomlin and his band are simply looking to provide uplifting music and praise the God who they believe in.Even though his solo career took some time to get going, Tomlin has been winning music awards since he first became public in 2004. Before that, he led worship at the Dawson McAllister youth conferences in his early twenties. He has also composed and recorded his own worship songs for over 15 years, always bringing enjoyment, truthful lyrics, and therefore an excellent worship experience to the members of his church with his music. He began as a solo artist in 2001 with The Noise We Make, which was the first album that began to gain him attention. The album never made it big, but it did reveal his talent to the world. Three years later, his album Arriving won him recognition as one of the praise and worship greats, bringing his name into association with Matt Redman and Darlene Zschech. With this album, Tomlin received his first RIAA-certified gold record. That year he made history by producing three number-one singles.Tomlin's most recent musical achievements have been with the release of his latest record Hello Love. On May 30 of this year, Tomlin performed at a concert in Uganda with a number of other Christian artists. The concert took place as a part of the Passion world tours. He is one of a large number of Christian artists to have been hosted by that country over the past several years.
