For those who like their country music with a rougher side, Cole Deggs and The Lonesome are a dream come true. Their music can range from slow and thoughtful to hard rocking and edgy. The band members have more talent than just singing, however. They each have made names for themselves in the music industry outside of the band, but the true magic happens when they play together. The band consists of two sets of brothers with Cole and Shade Deggs along with Jimmy and David Wallace. Their drummer, Brian Hayes, is not a relation, however he is a brother when the group gathers to sing. All of them played in bands as teenagers ranging from rock bands to country bands. While some of them would try other careers, it turned out that music was their ultimate destiny.Cole Deggs had previously found success when Kenny Chesney put the song he wrote, "Live Those Songs Again," on his 2002 album, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems. He and Jimmy Wallace were the first to meet in Nashville and become friends. Soon, the others were recruited to join the budding duo and magic happened. It didn't take long for them to be noticed and they were signed by Columbia Nashville in 2006.They released their self-titled debut album that next year and immediately found success with the single "I've Got More." Their next single, "Girl Next Door," showed the more rock and roll side of the band. The song made it to No. 49 on the Hot Country Songs Chart. One unique aspect of this band that fans notice right away is their camaraderie between the band members. Instead of hearing five musicians, you are hearing one cohesive unit. They mesh so well, it is safe to say that the band will be together for quite some time producing more interesting hits.
