"With a classic country background and the ability to power out smooth ballads like no other country artist, it's hard to believe that Collin Raye was ever anything but an untouchable country megastar. The incredible artist's signature voice has produced a remarkable amount of contemporary country masterpieces, from ""Little Rock"" and ""I Think About You"" to the tear-jerking ""One Boy, One Girl"" and ""Not That Different."" Raye has numerous Billboard number ones under his belt, and the country music powerhouse will go down in history as the country artist with contemporary crossover potential that stuck to his roots through the years.Raye was born Floyd Collin Wray in DeQueen, Arkansas, the son of a local singer. The balladeer got his first taste of the big stage at age seven when his mother brought him up on stage to harmonize with her, and the experience left Raye with stars in his eyes and a focus for his future. Raye formed the Wray Brothers Band as a teenager with his brother Scott, touring in roadhouses and honky tonks across the southwest. The Wray brothers signed a record deal with Mercury in 1986 under the name the Wrays, but broke up after two singles left them just where they started. Ultimately landing a solo gig with Epic in 1990, Collin embarked on his incredible career as the one and only Collin Raye. His debut album All I Can Be was released in 1991, immediately becoming a success with the love-infused ballad ""Love, Me."" The song was Raye's first number one, and the album ended up going platinum. The number ones poured in after '91, and the follow-up to his debut album, 1992's In This Life, also went platinum with the title track becoming another number one. 1995's I Think About You was Raye's fourth straight album to go platinum, and the country crooner continued busting out hits like ""Little Red Rodeo"" and ""I Can Still Feel You,"" producing hit albums through the ‘00s."
