Danger Danger

Danger Danger Biography

"The late ‘80s was all about big hair and metal, and the group Danger Danger certainly jumped on the bandwagon and took it for a joyride. The band was formed in 1987 by Steve West and Bruno Ravel in Queens, NY, the roster rounded eventually rounded out by Andy Timmons, Ted Poley and Kasey Smith. Though Danger Danger didn't stand out too much from the rest of their hair metal colleagues, they did manage to catch the eye of Epic's Lennie Petze. The band was signed to Epic's Imagine and released their self-titled debut in 1989. The album didn't enable the group to breakthrough on a large scale, but the single ""Naughty Naughty"" did receive some radio airplay and time in MTV.After touring with the likes of Alice Cooper and Extreme, Danger Danger returned to the studio to record their follow-up album. The group released Screw It in 1991. A European tour with Kiss followed where the group routinely played in front of sell-out crowds. The band recorded Cockroach with the intention of it being their third album, but legal troubles surrounding its release delayed it for nearly a decade. In the meantime, the group released Dawn, their first record to appear on Ravel and West's Low Dice Records. Not only was there a change in label for Dawn, but there was also a change in musical gears. The album saw the group depart from their hard-hitting sound for a more introspective tone, shedding some fans of their early work in the process. The band continued to plug along, though their popularity was waning by the late ‘90s. In 2001 the group finally saw the release of Cockroach. The following year, Danger Danger was voted as one of the Top 40 Hairbands by VH1. The group has continued to release material on Low Dice, including several live records."
