"As a producer and DJ, Danger Mouse has worked with some major names in the music industry and his collaborative efforts have resulted in some of the most innovative music in recent memory.Danger Mouse was born Brian Burton in White Plains, NY. Upon moving to Atlanta during his early teen years, Danger Mouse was introduced to the hip-hop stylings of the south. He went on to attend college at the University of Georgia, where he was introduced to the music of Nirvana, Pink Floyd and other rock acts. He began to experiment with the blending of genres and sounds and released two electronic mix albums under the moniker Pelican City while still attending school.Just a few credits short of graduating, Danger Mouse relocated to London during the early 2000s in pursuit of a DJing career. He spent time working day jobs while he crafted his own trip-hop beats in his spare time. After sending some of his material to the Warp label on the recommendation of a friend, Danger Mouse landed a deal with Warp affiliate Lex. It was then that the DJ/producer began going by the name Danger Mouse, taken from a cartoon character that he enjoyed as a youth. After a couple of releases, Danger Mouse began to receive the recognition he deserved upon the leak of The Grey Album, a mix that was a combination of Jay-Z's The Black Album and The Beatles' White Album. The record opened up new doors for Danger Mouse, sparking collaborative efforts with the likes of Damon Albarn of Blur and Gorillaz. Danger Mouse and Goodie Mob singer Cee-Lo joined up in 2006 to form Gnarls Barkley. The duo's debut, St. Elsewhere, was a hit, propelled by the success of the single ""Crazy."" Danger Mouse has continued to work with Cee-Lo, as Gnarls Barkley, and remix and produce for other artists as well."
