Dog's Eye View

Dog's Eye View Biography

"Dog's Eye View is a group formed by traveling guitarist Peter Stuart and his producer Jimbo Barton. Stuart formerly worked with the Counting Crows in the ‘90s as a backup vocalist as well as working supporting acts with Tori Amos and Cracker. While touring, Stuart handed out his own demo tape which he created himself, and eventually sold over 6,000 copies of the tape. Along with Barton, Stuart brought along drummer Neil Nunziato, bassist Mike Visceglia, cellist Dawn Buckhola and violinist Regina Ballantese. The group formed in New York and immediately started a record label buzz with their singles. Their 1996 hit ""Everything Falls Apart"" came out of nowhere and threw the boys of Dog's Eye View for a mainstream loop, as they saw loads of radio and MTV airplay.Stuart was always affected by music. After his father's sudden death when he was still a boy, Stuart found inspiration in Cat Steven's Tea for the Tillerman and eventually went on to perform as a solo artist in Chicago after attending Northwestern University. After performing his music locally, and earning a loyal fan base via his mailing list and e-mail chats, Stuart joined Adam Duritz's Counting Crows as both an opening act and groupie. Columbia Records execs were impressed by his work during the Counting Crows shows and signed Dog's Eye View in 1994. The group recorded their album, which was co-produced and entirely written by Stuart. After the success of ""Everything Falls Apart"" the group went on tour supporting their album.Their sophomore effort appeared in 1997 and had several more collaborations, including multi-instrumentalist and producer Jon Brion. In 2005 Dog's Eye View released Tomorrow Always Comes with Vanguard."

"""Everything Falls Apart"" was the hit single that put New Yorker's Dog's Eye View on the mainstream map. The 1996 single appeared on the group's debut album, Happy Nowhere and is extremely reminiscent of vocalist, guitarist and lyricist's former group Counting Crows. The album was Peter Stuart's, the man behind Dog's Eye View, solo album made into a group sound with the help of a few other performers, including drummer Neil Nunziato, bassist Mike Visceglia, cellist Dawn Buckhola and violinist Regina Ballantese.Sing along with every ring on your cell phone with their music tone that goes, ""Don't look now/things just got worse/I'm drunk again,/I swear this crescent - is just a curse/I got here by killing off all my friends/I think I figured it out - my life begins when the fun ends/I've got my wings,/I'm free to go as I please/Yeah, I got my wings,/now nothing really please me ‘til/Everything falls apart,/then I get to try to put it back together/Everything falls apart,/and you can count on that like you can count on bad,/bad weather again.""
