Being a teenager isn’t easy, as the guys from Christian pop-punk band Eleventyseven know all too well. Their unique brand of angst, catchy hooks, and nuggets of teenage wisdom have been attracting fans since 2006, when the North Carolina-based trio released their debut album, And the Land of Fake Believe on Flickr. It’s clear this is a band that’s destined to go places. They’ve already begun amassing a solid fan base that appreciates their rockin’ good music, sense of humor and spirituality. The band’s unique is the maturity they show on much of their music, and the fact that they incorporate their faith into their songs as well. Songs like "Reach that Far""God show me how I’m supposed to trust in things beyond my sight/So teach me how to kneel When I don’t know how to feel/And show me where you are when my faith can’t reach that far."On another song, "12 Step Programs,""Yeah I’m pretty sure that now it shows/I could never see far past my nose/And I’m almost positive these pills/Are the only thing that ever made me ill so/I’ll make it through another week/Despite the fact that I can’t sleep/The only problem I can see/Is this is not who I’m meant to be and/I’m ready now to do what it takes to see/That the boy looking back in the mirror isn’t me."The fact that the band has been willing to write songs about tough issues has been a major attraction for music fans that want more intelligence and spirit in the music they listen to.
