Eve 6 Biography
Pop-rock band Eve 6 emerged in the post-grunge trend of the late 1990s with radio favorite and now ‘90s nostalgia single "Inside Out." Despite dismembering in 2004, Eve 6 still holds a place in our hearts for their earnest rock endeavors. The California-based trio, comprised of frontman Max Collins, Jon Siebels and Tony Fagenson, formed when Siebels and Collins signed with RCA while still in high school under the name Eleventeen. Two years later drummer Fagenson completed the group (now called Eve 6) for the release of their eponymous debut in 1998. Eve 6 wowed critics with their angst-ridden lyrics and harmony between Siebels and Collins and had fans wanting more from the teenage trio. The album's lead single "Inside Out" claimed the coveted number one spot on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and received ample radio play for its display of a maturity well beyond the young members' ages displayed in lyrics like "tie me to the bedpost."Eve 6 released their sophomore album, Horrorscope in 2000; the group's second effort went gold with singles "Promise" and "Here's to the Night," which graced the Billboard Hot 100 and Modern Rock Tracks charts. For the next two years Eve 6 toured internationally and assumed the same rock status as mainstays Third Eye Blind and Marcy Playground. After suffering a setback with Collins' 2003 indecent exposure arrest, Eve 6 released It's All in Your Head in August 2003. The album's single "Think Twice" was a moderate success but didn't catch on as quickly commercially as the group's previous efforts and Eve 6 was subsequently dropped from label RCA in 2004. Eve 6 performed their last show in July of 2004 and went on to pursue solo projects; Collins and Fagenson formed the Sugi Tap in 2006 and Siebels went on to play with Monsters are Waiting.
