"As a representative of wry, wary and ironic British humor, Fatboy Slim is one of the more entertaining artists in the music scene today. His ability to draw crowds has won him respect, although some critics feel that his musical abilities are somewhat lacking. Fatboy Slim was born Quentin Cook in Bromley, Kent in England, on July 31, 1963. The first band that he was a part of was the pop group The Housemartins from Hull, who he joined in 1986. Following his stint with The Housemartins, Fatboy Slim turned his attention to acid house, forming the group Pizzaman with Tim Jeffrey and J.C. Reid at the end of the ‘80s.From there he formed the persona Fatboy Slim, which is the personality that he has become famous for. As Fatboy he has released several albums starting with Better Living Through Chemistry in 1996, which peaked at number 32 in the US on Heatseekers in 1998. The album also spawned the British hit single ""Everybody Needs a 303"" which peaked in the top 40 on the UK hit singles charts. Fatboy Slim went on create successful albums one after another, and is still performing to increasingly large crowds throughout the UK.
