"Ferras Alquasi was born in Illinois in 1982 and his road to becoming a musician is not by any means a normal one. Ferras parents were divorced when he was five years old when his father kidnapped him, under the pretense of taking him to Disney World, and took him to his home country of Amman, Jordan. The story is a sad one, though his father was loving the five-year-old missed his mother and spent a great deal of time playing music on the keyboard that his father had bought for him from Wal-Mart when they were leaving for the airport. Inspired by his situation the young burgeoning musician learned about music from the radio and wrote a piece for his mother, which he played for her over the phone.Three months later his mother was able to rescue him and take him back to Illinois where he was born, but with his artistic inclinations increasing and his deeply felt reconnection with his roots Ferras did not feel at home in the state where he was born. He eventually convinced his mother to move to California, where he could pursue his music more actively. As soon as he had his driver's license he started driving up the coast highway to L.A. on a regular basis, looking for a recording contract. When nothing substantial materialized he applied to Boston's Berklee School of Music, gaining acceptance despite the fact that he was unable to read music. When things started looking like they weren't going to work out in the academic world, Ferras was contacted by Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit who had previously been in touch with him. Durst had arranged for him to meet with Capitol Music Group Chairman Jason Flom. When Ferras played his song ""Take My Lips"" Flom was sold and soon after the artist found himself inking his first contract."
