He got another break when he was asked to sing with Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra. In 1943, he got a gig as the emcee of a radio show called Lucky Strike Hit Parade. Some of the hits during that time were "Night and Day," "People Will Say We're in Love" and "I Should Care." His acting career was also red hot with roles in many movies like Anchors Aweigh, It Happened in Brooklyn, Step Lively and Take Me Out to the Ball Game. It brought together stars Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. The pack appeared in movies together and a few also teamed up to sing together. They were almost a permanent fixture in Las Vegas.Sinatra's success waned after he hit it big in the 1950s, but he had already cemented himself as one of the best performers to ever grace the stage. He kept his legacy alive until he died of a heart attack on May 14, 1998.
