With his Latin American good looks and his eloquent way with words, Frankie J. is just about charming the pants off of anyone who hears his sexy voice. Born Francisco Javier Bautista in Tijuana, Mexico and raised in San Diego, California, Frankie J. grew up listening to the traditional and cultural sounds of Latin music as well as the more modern sounds of American pop and hip-hop music. With a vested interest in the music industry, Frankie J. decided at an early age that he wanted to pursue music as a full time career. In 1999, Frankie J. took the leap and signed with the Latin group the Kumbia Kings. During his time with the band, they toured all over Latin America spicing up dance halls, bars and clubs in several countries.Soon Frankie J. decided to branch out and pursue a solo music career and he signed with Columbia Records, releasing his first album called What's A Man To Do in 2003. A single from that album ""Don't Wanna Try"" peaked in the top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart, garnering widespread attention for the relatively new to the scene Frankie. Frankie J., though, would not remain unknown for very long. He gained further notice after appearing on the single ""Suga Suga"" by prominent rapper Baby Bash and also later worked with another well known rap artist, Chamillionaire.Frankie J. released The One, which met with outstanding reviews and struck gold with the singles ""Obsession,"" ""How to Deal"" and ""More Than Words."" Frankie J. followed up with his third English language CD called Priceless which debuted at number 30 on the Billboard 200 and featured the hit songs ""Daddy's Little Girl"" and ""If He Can't Be.""
